Love Story

Our love story 💖

Our first ever picture together - July 2014.
All girls dream of finding their Prince Charming, and that's exactly what happened to me. At only 17, I found the one I KNEW I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. It may seem young these days, but my parents actually met and fell in love around the same age. Preston might also be 4 years older than me but he already had his life together and knew what he wanted to achieve. From most girls - that is so attractive in a guy, especially me. I just got out of High School and was so lost. He was exactly what I needed to keep me grounded and focused. 💪

Preston and I have been together a total of 2 and a half years. We met in July 2014 and instantly fell in love. From anyone who knows him, you would't doubt that he is the most loving, caring and down to earth man. That's exactly why I fell in love with him. He asked me to be his girlfriend 2 weeks after meeting with a bouquet of flowers and homemade chocolate chip cookies....What girl could say no to that? 😋

Right from the gecko we were inseparable. I was actually the first one to say I love you, I couldn't resist holding back. I used to be that kind of person to hold back and not talk about my emotions, but with him - my wall was down.

As my parents started to get to know him, they fell in love with him too. He was so polite to them and they could see how well he treated me and that's all they ever wanted for their daughter.
My mum was talking with me one day about Pres and was telling me her daily learning's from Dr. Phil. 😭 She told me that around 70% (or something like that, don't hold me to it) of young women find their soulmates with main characteristics from their father. And that's exactly what I did without even knowing.
My dad LOVES to cook - so does Preston.
My dad LOVES to clean - so does Preston.

My dad has a huge work ethic - so does Preston.

The list goes on and on.

I knew I wanted to marry Preston just 2 months in to dating him. That might seem too soon but he felt the same way. We both knew we were meant for each other and that we were supposed to spend the rest of our lives together. I never thought I would find my soulmate at only age 17 but I did and I didn't let anything or anyone get in the way of that.

In April 2015, we decided to find a place and move in together!! It was for sure a real test to find out if we could live together or not. And believe it or not, it was absolutely perfect. It actually brought us closer together and also made me realise what a slob I actually was haha, but he continued to love me regardless.

Preston's parents actually live in Hawaii and wanted us to come visit them that year around Christmas. I'm ALL for going on Vacation, especially HAWAII!! I could not turn down that amazing opportunity. We saved and saved, got the time off - which was around 3 weeks from work. We both wanted to be there my birthday, Christmas, Preston's birthday and New Years. Little did I know Preston had other things planned for us when we got there.
On my 19th Birthday, Preston PROPOSED to me on the beach in Honolulu. It was the most romantic, most intimate, most sensitive proposal ever. Preston is a pretty traditional human being and likes doing things the old fashioned way, but this proposal was far from that. We were just sitting next to each other, enjoying the view. Talking about life and how much we loved each other and then he just pulled out this BEAUTIFUL ring, like seriously guys. And then asked me to marry him!!

After our amazing trip in Hawaii, when we got home we immediately moved in with my parents. Before we left, they offered for us to move in to save money. Preston and I were always talking about discussing buying a house together and it was one of our main goals. My parents let us live with them basically rent free and it was definitely short term pain for long term gain as Preston always said.Living with my parents also gave us a lot of time to truly test our relationship and how we work together under stress and being confined to just one area. I'll share all about our highs and lows living with my parents another time :)

On October 8th 2016 was the BIG DAY!! 👰 It was seriously the most perfect day of my life. I honestly thought so many things would go wrong but everything went so smoothly. I got to marry my soulmate, my bestfriend, my partner in crime. There will also be another blog post about our whole day and lots of pictures!

So basically to top it all off, I want everyone to know that there is someone out there for you. Whether you're 17, or 28 or 50. I believe we were all put on this earth for a reason and whether you find someone to spend the rest of your life with or not, enjoy everything that comes your way.
I don't like the saying "life is too short" as I believe you should always think you're gonna live for a very long time, but seriously just love being you. Love yourself, love your partner, love your family.

Thank you all for reading this if you're still here and until next time!

Lots of Love,
