So this Christmas was our first as a married couple for Preston and I and it was wonderful. Christmas has always been my favourite holiday and always will be because it's filled with love and laughter. I absolutely love spending time with my family and ever since Preston and I have been together, I've been able to spend my Christmas's with two families!
Coming from England & Ireland, both sides of my families live over there so it was a big adjustment not having them around on Christmas when I first moved to Canada. But that is why I will always be thankful that Preston has a big family on both sides. It makes me feel more at home as they are now my family and we will get to spend Christmases with them all for years to come!
This year we spent Christmas Eve with our lovely Grandma Daniels. We always have a German breakfast whenever we go there and we spent the whole day with her. Preston has always talked about these things called "spud nuts" that his grandparents used to make for him and this year Grandma Daniels asked us if we wanted to make them. They're basically the same thing as doughnuts but they're made with mashed potatoes and they are to die for!!

Mostly all dipped in icing glaze and mine were dipped in cinnamon sugar. |
On Christmas day we went over to my parents house in the morning to now spend the day with them, my little sister and my niece & nephew. Tiernan and Reagan didn't know what to do with all of the presents that my parents got for them, Reagan was definitely overwhelmed. It's definitely hard for younger kids to understand as they are only a year & a half years old but once the presents were opened for them, they loved everything they got!

My dad has always been the cook in the family and has never missed a dinner. (Except when my nanny was alive and we would all go to hers some Christmases for dinner) I can't thank my dad enough for cooking all this food for us. You would think he cooked for a whole village but it was only for 5 adults and 2 little ones haha!
We had roasted & mashed potatoes, two kinds of stuffing, turkey, ham, roasted honey parsnips, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, yorkshire puddings, sausage meat, and onion gravy. If anyone ever needs a place to eat for Christmas Day, seriously - call up my dad and he would be more than happy to have you.
On Boxing Day, Preston and I woke up at 5:30am to go shopping. I knew there would be so many good deals out there so we decided to get up early to beat the big line ups. And look what I came home with....
I have been wanting a good camera for years now and have always had a secret love for photography. Our first stop was in Best Buy JUST to look and not buy anything but I ended up walking out with this bad boy and an excellent tripod. So far, I have taken so many amazing photos with it and I can't wait to take more to post on my blog. Every blogger needs a good camera, am I right? 😆
We also got lots of decorations for next Christmas that were on sale for amazing prices!
Kona clearly knew I had the camera out and literally just sat there for me and posed, it was AWESOME! I honestly can't wait to use this camera for years to come, it was definitely a stealing deal, thanks Best Buy!!
And now that Christmas is over and 2017 is upon us, I honestly can say 2016 was the most amazing and productive year of my life. Things have definitely gotten better for me both emotionally and realistically. Preston and I have a lot more exciting things ahead of us and we can't wait to share them all with you.
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and have a pleasant New Year. Thank you all for reading and until next time!
Lots of love,
